The project glossary

Applies to: pagenorma S, pagenorma QS

The glossary is a list of key terms, names and recurring phrases found in your book, paired with how you translated them. It helps you keep terminology consistent across the whole manuscript.

Open it

  1. Open an analysis from Translation Analyses.
  2. Click View Glossary above the commentary column.

The Project Glossary window opens. If it says Glossary is empty or not loaded for the current analysis, the glossary was not created for this analysis; run an analysis with Glossary ticked.

Find what you need

  • Search source or target term — type part of a word in either language. The × button clears the search.
  • Filter by assessment — all, red flags, needs improvement, appears correct, or not assessed.
  • Filter by issue type — narrow to one kind of problem.
  • Sort — click Source term, Target term, Assessment or Context in the header to sort. Click again to reverse.
  • A line at the top shows how many terms match, such as 12 of 240 terms. Use the page buttons at the bottom to move through long lists.

See a term in context

Each row has a 🔍 N contexts button. Click it to open the paragraphs where the term appears, with the matching source snippet and translation snippet next to the paragraph number. If nothing is found, you will see No local matches in aligned paragraphs.

Look up synonyms

Next to each term is a small 📖 button. It opens thesaurus results for that term in a row below it. The lookup happens the first time you click, and the result is remembered for your session, so opening it again does not use more of your allowance. See Use the thesaurus.

How it is created

The glossary is generated during an analysis from your source and your translation. Because it is built from your own translation, it can include mistakes and chance variants, so use it as a guide and not as a rule.
